I've had the privelege of working with Afrika Baambaattaa, Jazzy Jay, Eric "veitnam" Sadler, and I did a show at the Apollo - "Rapmasters", with Kool Herc. I have recently since the hurricane Katrina (I now reside in New Orleans), written a song called "Words", which I sampled Pink Floyd. I contacted their publisher, and he declined to allow clearance for the interpolation. I'm gunna use it anyhow. The sampling art has been lost since the 90's for a couple of reasons in my opinion. &lt;BR/&gt;1) legalities 2) technological investment, and availablity 3) time investment to acquire technique. The industry has landed lethal blows to the HipHop community, through commercialization and legalization. It's almost a lost art. I believe its going to come back around, and I plan to be an integral part of that. Word on the street is that sampling is going to come back. It's what the artists are requesting. Hey I'm either a dinosaur, or once again before my time. lol Peace.&lt;BR/&gt;-jeslyfe</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/10824187/115025196957136897/comments/default/115027800498900374'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/10824187/115025196957136897/comments/default/115027800498900374'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.katonian.net/2006/06/amen-break.html?showComment=1150278004990#c115027800498900374' title=''/><author><name>Jeslyfe</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/13173053418248763129</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.katonian.net/2006/06/amen-break.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10824187.post-115025196957136897' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/10824187/posts/default/115025196957136897' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
