There must be some kind of way out of here.

Good morning my minions. I thought we'd start of the week doing something fun and creative. Spring has sprung, the weather here is fair, and the bright sunshine makes me happy. Seeing the sun after months of gloomy winter reminded me that I do, in fact, have a shadow. To celebrate this fact I stepped out and took a self-portrait of my dark, decumbent doppleganger, as seen here and here. The low angle of the early morning rays makes me look a bit like an Aunt Jemima bottle, but so be it.

Now, good citizens of Katonia, I call upon you to go out and do likewise. Take a unique self-portrait by snapping a photo or two of your shadow. Upload it to FlickR or Blogger or whatever else you might use and post a link in the comments here for all to see. If you don't have a place to store it, e-mail the photo to me and I'll post it. I was only half-awake for mine and thus stood very much like a lump, but be creative: move your arms, pose, hold an object, etc.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

That's real sensitive, a-hole.
You KNOW that I don't cast a shadow AND that I don't photograph! Way to exclude one of your best friends from the activity, jerkweed.

Nos, buddy, pal, you know it's not personal. We talked about this. There are going to be times when I'm gonna wanna do stuff with my friends and, well, the sun. It's springtime. It doesn't mean I don't want to hang out with you, it's just that not all of my friends are night-owls (or fiendishly crave human blood). Hey, who came through for you when you needed that O-negative with no questions asked?

MC Etcher (aka The Fonz) shows his approval by submitting his shadow self-portrait. Where's yours?

Whoa...so I tried to visit my friend Kato's blog a minute ago and imagine my confusion when I come upon a site about bible studies. Alas, it was only a typo.

I would leave mine but I think by mentioning it you made the sun go away and it's now 35 degrees. Thanks a lot.

Robin, if you ever find that WITFITS has turned into a Bible study page, call the authorities. Something is terribly, terribly wrong.

Robin: Wow, for a sec I thought they hijacked my Blogger domain. Clever typo squatting... I guess. Where's your shadow portrait?

Scarlet: That's no excuse. Use a lamp. :)

I really did try to do the shadow photo, but I couldn't get a good shot. The flash killed it, methinks ;)

NewNorth stumbled upon WITFITS and left her shadow behind. If a complete stranger can do it, can't you?

I stepped up to the shadow self-portrait challenge but don't know how my picture turned out. The early morning sun and mild cloud coverage did not bode well for my shadow. I guess that's why it looks a little weak. I did what I could Kato.

But you made an effort and that's what counts. Who else will step forward and accept the challenge?

So, after you cursed the sun with all your shadow-talk, it finally returned yesterday (only to slink off again today).

I call it: "Call me Sc-ahlet, D-ahling."

Well done. We haven't had an abundance of sun this Spring have we?
