I have to admit, the recent Snickers commercials with the candy-bar eating rug-store (?) employee enjoying his break-time snack with the help of a friendly, guitar wielding stranger are quite enjoyable to me. The song is brilliant and I love how the employee is skeptical at first but then starts swaying his head with the music as he feels the vibe. The ending, too, is perfect: they finish the song in harmony, closing with a far shot of the friendly stranger patting his new friend on the shoulder saying, with a voice that for some reason reminds me of the 1950's, "That's right", in gentle tones that make everything seem right with the world.

And it does kinda make me want a Snickers.

Goodonya.

How about the one where the guy is on a date that doesn't end well and he gets in the car and when he opens his Snickers bar a scantily-clad voluptuous woman starts saying encouraging things to him?

Yeah, that one makes me laugh, too.

UGH- that stupid Panda Bear one makes me sick.

The Singing guy one is just amusing.

Please don't sully Snicker's good name by associating it with that "why so blue, panda-bear?" advert. That's for Milky Way...I think.

If I hear that guy say "What Ev" one more time, I may have to find him and beat him about the face with a flyswatter.

Yes, that is indeed a Milky Way ad, not a Snickers ad, though they are both made by the Mars company (along with about a dozen other candy bars).

I have been singing that "prancing nougat in the meadow" part of the jingle all day long, and my husband has threatened to kill me if I don't stop.

But I cannot stop.

It's fucking prancing NOUGAT, motherfucker!!!!

Your husband is clearly weak. He has not accepted the fact that nougat is superior to us in every way and will one day rule this pathetic planet with a gooey and delicious fist.

I was actually just singing that part in the car on my way back from lunch. The song brings joy to my soul.

I KNOW!!! Why does it make me so happy?!!!

Yesterday I was singing it on the back deck and the mexican dudes painting the house next door to us overheard me. Then they looked at eachother, and said something in hushed spanish.

Clearly anti-nougites.

You are truly an inspiration to nougat-philes the world over. Or at least to people to like songs about nougat.

Which should be everyone, as far as I'm concerned.
