This morning while enjoying a bowl of Kellog's Honey Smacks, I noticed a full page comic on the back of the cereal box. It detailed a misadventure of Dig 'Em, the Honey Smacks frog mascot, who accidentally smashes a car window while playing street hockey. It's so delightfully bad I just had to parody it. Check out my remixed version, "Dig 'Em Days: The Jacking", which reveals the true nature of the corporate amphibian. I have also posted the original for posterity.

Frog Life, baby!

I wanted to postpone commenting until I could think of something worthy, but alas, there are no words. It may be weeks before I can take my cart down the cereal aisle and keep my composure.
Here's a positive comment for you:

That's fucking funny, dude.

It reminds me of my days of railing on Family Circus. Oh, how I miss that.

But your work is way better, since you have more than a single, crappy, Bil Keane-drawn frame to work with.

Bil Keane fucking sucks.
You do not.
That's funny.

Let us know when it makes its way full circle back to you via email forwarding.

I think I saw a similar situation play out on Street Frogs one time.

Vicarious: Well, if you spot any other cereals with crappy comics on the back, let me know.

FCB: Ironically enough, I poke fun at Mr. Keane in an upcoming post. Thanks for the compliment, and the link (via your name).

Prop: I'll also let you guys know when I get the cease and desist order from Kellog's. Should be any day now.

Scarlet: God bless you, dear, for mentioning (and finding a link to) the Street Frogs. They were in the back of my mind while I wrote the post and you brought them to the forefront. I wonder if anyone else out in the Internets remembers them?

Someone else out there must remember. After all, who can do hip-hop better than a frog can?
Answer: Street Frogs.

(Or, "Nobody, motherfucker," the answer found on this site, which confuses me as to whether the author loved or hated the cartoon "Comic Strip." Either way, there are screen shots here.)

Good find, that would have been my answer to the question as well. You're right, he seems to hate it yet knows an awful lot about it. Hmmm.

Oh, dear Lord, Kato. I am so glad you commented on my blog and I found that reason enough to visit you. That was the single most humorous comic remix I have ever seen. That damn, dirty frog!

Vittra, thank you for the compliment and thanks for stopping by! I believe I came to your blog via a post you made on kthrne's.

Dig 'Em is street, no doubt about it.

This is why getting schoolwork done ahead of time is totally worth it. The infusion of street terms not being used to make some white guy seem dorky was well done.

Made my day, thanks for this.
